2024 Hoffman Weber Construction Bracket Series - 9 & 10 Results




The 2024 Hoffman Weber Construction Bracket Racing Series has come to a close with races 9 & 10 contested on a beautiful sunny and dry weekend at BIR. It was a very welcome change after the last several years being cold, rainy, and even snowy to get both races on the final weekend completed. Friday’s gizmo and no gizmo jackpot races featured 60 and 61 cars but was cut short due to several oil downs throughout the day and the early fall sunset at round 4. Saturday’s race, #9 of 10 in the 2024 HWC bracket series  saw 338 racers battle it out for the trophies, checks, and the ever so important points with only one remaining race to earn a class championship.     







                  


 “Res Tec Systems” Super Pro was won by Carl Geib with his .013 reaction time and running 6.166 on his 6.16 dial when Dave Engler who just prior to the pass took 2 numbers out of his box and went - .002 red to give Geib the automatic win. 


The “Track Stop” Pro ET final was Trent Fischer and Aaron Milton. Although Milton ran a dead on 0 5.850 on his 5.85 dial Fisher was able to turn on his win light using a .031 reaction time advantage to lock Milton out with his 6.661 on a 6.65 dial. 


In the “Thunder Valley Classic Cars” Sportsman class, Grant Pesola used a better reaction time to force Rory Emmans to run under his dial thus giving the breakout win to Pesola. 


Races 9 &10 were also a Midwest Class Racer event sponsored by Barret Pet Foods for the “Feist Automotive & Towing” Stock/Super Stock class with a guaranteed $2000.00 to win/$1000.00 r/u payout. In the Finals Dwaine Davis saw his win light come on when Marlene Nelson went -.022 red giving him the easy win and the “big check”. 





The winner in D.O.A Dragsleds & Bikes was Mark Gode who used a significant reaction time advantage to lock out Addie Harder and turn on his win light. 


In the Comp Trophy final Joe Moriarty Jr ran 11.691 on his 11.69 dial but saw the win light in John Takacs’s lane turn on due to John having a better reaction time and getting to the stripe first without breaking out. 


Street Trophy was also decided by reaction time when Dennis Diller was dead late and Tyler Gadacz was able to use the advantage to turn on his win light. The Jr Street Final was Ty Reynolds against Andy Fischer. Reynolds was .001 on the tree and was able to hold off Fischer to turn on his win light. 


In her 7th final round appearance of 2024 Skylar Klassen finally shook the runner up monkey off her back and turned on the win light in Jr. Dragster Advanced using a reaction time advantage and running closer to her dial to get the win over Colin Songas. 





The Jr. Dragster Intermediate class finalists were Mason Jahr and Bodie Carlson, Bodie despite have a .022 reaction time advantage gave the win to Jahr on a double break outbreaking out by .005 more. 


The Jr. Dragster Novice final round saw recently licensed driver Cameron Davis get the win over Hayden Hjelle when both drivers turned on the red light with Davis being closer to green. 



Sunday for race 10 the final race of the 24 Hoffman Weber Construction Bracket Racing Series had 317 drivers looking to finish the season on a high note with a race win or looking to add points to their total to try for a season championship.


“Res Tech System” Super Pro would see Tom Carlson and Gary Schueneman face off with Carlson taking the win when Schueneman was dead late on the tree and locked out by Tom’s .014 light and .032 above pass.  





“Track Stop” Pro ET was won by Mike Casteel when Brad Mickle went -.002 red and gave him the automatic win light. 


In “Thunder Valley Classic Cars” Sportsman, Carter Luberda who was the runner up in two finals a week prior at the ET Finals in the High School Class was able to see a win light come on in his lane when Joe Moriarty was -.009 red. 


In “Feist Automotive & Towing” Stock/Superstock”, day two of the MCR Barret Pet Foods race would see first time BIR racer Tony Henderson use a reaction time advantage to come out on top of a double break out win over Kelly Rutz. 


“D.O.A.” Dragsleds & Bikes would see Mark Gode in his second final of the weekend pick up his third win in a row when he used a starting line advantage to hold off Jimmy Paulson to turn on his win light. 





The Comp Trophy final was Joe Moriarty Jr. and Kurt LaForge. This race would be decided on the starting line when Moriarty went red turning on the win light for LaForge. 


In Street Trophy Triston Zimmer used a perfect reaction time .000 to lock out Damien Haller and turn on his win light. 


In Jr. Street, Ty Reynolds in his second final of the weekend was -.013 red turning on the win light for Annie Sletten.  


Jr. Dragster Advanced was won by Colin Songas who used a better reaction time and ran a dead on 3, 7.993  to defeat Hailey Jahr. 





Jr. Dragster Intermediate would be a family affair final with Bodie & Colt Carlson racing for the trophy. Colt would get the win over his brother when Bodie left very early giving him the win. 


In Jr. Dragster Novice Brooklyn Hop, who was behind on the tree, was able to turn on her win light when Natalie Jo Micholski was not able to run close enough to her dial.
